Birkenhead priory Merseyside oldest building see what's it like

Birkenhead Priory built in 1150 not 1296 as mentioned in my previous video. The Benedictine monastry is one of the oldest buildings on the Wirral and is over the river Mersey from Liverpool. The monks that lived here ran the ferry service across the mersey. The ship yard is over what would have been the extended site of the monastry and a grave yard was excavated when building the docks. Massive Liner calked the Borealis currently docked. Fabulous piece of local history on my doorstep. #localhis
