Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve ever used stepped drill bits. I’ve had this bit for a long time now but haven’t needed to used it. I was about to grab a small drill bit for the initial hole, then a larger one for the final hole size, but then remembered I had the stepped bit. It surprised me as the drill bit didn’t catch on the brass at all and made a perfectly smooth hole. This is another one of those tools that is handy to have for those just in case moments. I haven’t tried it
