If you didn’t hear, a major beach nourishment project just kicked off on the West End of Galveston Island, adding nearly 2 miles of new sand to the shoreline! The City of Galveston, Texas - Government, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Texas General Land Office are placing about 717,000 cubic yards of sand between Sunbather Lane and 11 Mile Road.
