Stay weather aware today folks. I expect widespread strong to severe storms to arrive in the early afternoon hours well inland, with an exit off the coast by early evening. The storms will bring winds potentially gusting over 60 mph at times. An isolated tornado will be possible, along with some small hailstones as well. Temps around 60° at sunrise will lift to the low 70s ahead of the storms. Even outside of the storms, winds will gust 40-50 mph at times. | WITN-TV

First Alert Weather Day today folks. We'll be tracking an area of widespread showers with embedded thunderstorm moving through from 7am to 11am. We'll likely go quiet from lunchtime through early afternoon before a few storms try to re-fire from mid afternoon through sunset. An isolated strong to severe storm will be possible with wind gusts to 60 mph and hailstones up to the size of a quarter. Highs will reach the muggy mid to upper 80s this afternoon. | WITN-TV

The chance for severe weather is still present in the forecast, however timing has been adjusted slightly as model data shows the parent low pressure system slowing up. Our peak time for severe weather will be between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday. Coastal communities will have the highest chance of seeing the severe weather threat realized during that time period.
